We are not trying to put our heads in the sand or negate the seriousness of COVID-19 but we are all tired of hearing about COVID! We are all trying to live our lives the best we can under the circumstances. Hopefully, you and your loved ones have stayed safe and healthy over the last year. And hopefully the end is near, and you are in line to get your vaccine with a trip soon on your horizon.
We are e-mailing about COVID for hopefully the last time with little updates as life returns to our new normal.

Belize set into motion “Gold Standard” protocols to re-open the country last year, which Belize River Lodge qualified – we are open at the Lodge, for fishing and touring. GETTING TO BELIZE

Getting to Belize is easy and as of February 2021, nonstop flights are available to Belize on American Airlines from Miami, Dallas, Charlotte, and Los Angeles. Delta offers flights from Atlanta, while Sun Country flies from Minneapolis. United is currently flying from Denver, Los Angeles, Chicago, Newark, and Houston. As more airlines come back on board, we will send out updates.

A few things to do before your board your flight, after you confirm with us (smile).
1. Within 72 hours of travel to Belize, a negative COVID test is needed prior to your arrival in Belize.
-*- BTB’s website “Bring along a negative Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Belize, OR Rapid Antigen, Sophia, SD Bisensor, ABBOT (Panbio) test results taken no more than 48 hours prior to travel.”
2. Download the Belize Health app anytime, however, upload your information no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Belize to get your unique travel ID and QR code.

RETURNING TO THE USA
CDC guidelines ~ NO WORRIES!!

BRL has arranged with Belize Diagnostic to come out to the Lodge either after breakfast or after fishing/touring before appetizers to test you.
• Once your schedule is complete, we will confirm with Belize Diagnostic to come out the Lodge 3 days prior to your departure to run your test. The cost is US$75.00 per person and Belize Diagnostic is paid directly. We also have a few other options “in case”.

FISHING TALE FOR A WEEKEND GET-AWAY TRIP

New to saltwater flats fishing, Blake, 53 years old, and Davis, 18 years old, each landed their very first bonefish on their first day with Jimel; even while Blake learned to double haul. Nothing like learning on the beautiful bonefish flats of Belize. Mike, 77 years old, and a more experienced saltwater angler, caught a Grand Slam on the first day with John. One of the guest jumped a big tarpon with John at Long Caye Channel.

While fishing from the main Lodge, they stopped at Long Caye Outpost for lunch. The group loved the beach of Long Caye and overall the variety of fishing while on their trip.
