“The best way to live Life is to flow with it; accepting what is, making sincere efforts to repair whatever needs fixing and trusting the process…” ~ AVIS Viswanathan
Dear Friends,
If 2020 is known as the COVID year, 2021 is the year of “going with the flow”. As airlines come back online with travel to Belize, travel schedule changes and also changes to COVID regulations for travel to/from Belize, no worries, sit back, relax and go with the flow. It is all good and we are happy to make changes as needed. Thankfully, as Belize has been pro-active with COVID, and more and more Belizeans are getting vaccinated, the travel to/from Belize changes are easier. We have good news to share, Belize is getting even easier to fly to and also to enter.
#1. The Belize Travel Health app has been eliminated. It is no longer needed, yeah!!
#2. This is an either / or to travel to Belize
* Either, Belize is accepting proof of full COVID-19 immunization received at least 2 weeks prior to arrival in Belize.
However the new part of this, BTB has stated – full immunization is looked at as if a person can show proof of either your two vaccinations (Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZenica, etc) or full one shot vaccination (Johnson & Johnson), others that we have not heard about may be an option, just have your card proving full immunization. Either option allows you to enter Belize without having to COVID test beforehand.
* Or, A negative COVID-19 Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test taken within 96 hours of travel, Or, A negative rapid Rapid Antigen, Sophia, SD Bisensor, ABBOT (Panbio) test taken within 48 hours of travel
#3. There are more flights coming back to Belize or scheduled to start service soon.

On Friday and Saturday the curfew starts at midnight.
Restaurants: Dine-in now allowed at all restaurants by reservation. Capacity limited to 75%.
The curfew and restaurants do not affect Belize River Lodge guests, but if someone wanted a night “on the town”, the above needs to be observed.
1. Wear your mask/face covering at all times (required by law – Buffs &/or bandanas are classified face coverings)
2. Sanitize often
3. Maintain social distancing
4. Enjoy your trip!
Presently, you still need to test for your return back to the USA. BRL will arrange with Belize Diagnostics to come out to BRL three days prior to your departure from Belize, either right after breakfast or after fishing before appetizers to administer your COVID-19 test. Your results are ready before they leave and the results are emailed later that day or early the next.
Belize Diagnostics is paid US$75 per person, directly in cash.
All of us at Belize River Lodge are extremely happy to have guest once again at BRL, new and long-time friends, we feel alive and energized. It is great to visit with everyone and hear your fishing tales on the Lodge porch and there have been some good ones this year, adding to our BRL 60 year history. Please continue reading below for Mike’s latest “Fish Tales”.
Best regards,
The BRL Office Ladies
