A Fish n’ Tale

As Pedro was poling by Long Caye
He cast his rod to a Tarpon in the sea,
And to his surprise up came a snook
Who quickly took away his hook

Pedro retied a fly on his line
And cast again, for in his view
Were nervous ripples in the sea
As far as his eyes could see

His hands were shaking,
As tarpon rolls were breaking
The light of day was quickly fading
And I could hear Pedro utter a quiet plea
“Oh my, please don’t let me catch the tree.”
